edited to add: I think dry herb vape is the best alternative to smoking. Less harsh and supposedly healthier. I went to that when I was having CHEMO, and it definitely helped. ☮

I was fortunate to have read the counterculture guidebook A Child’s Gardeb of Grass, which digressed at length on the futility of attempting to make ‘terrible tea’.

Edibles have an effect, but it's less "high" and more "relax" in my experience.

If you want to activate it, that is. I use coconut oil to make canna butter with a machine I bought online. I can make 16 ounces of butter with 1 ounce of cannabis — about a 1 year supply for myself and guests. I keep it suitably wrapped air tight in the freezer.

1/8 teaspoon is all it takes. Start with less than that. Duration: about 8 hours.

Burning or Vaporizing does that. And the active stuff isn't water solubable so it would be a waste of stuff. Other issue is edibles hit slowly and are much harder to dose correctly. THC's only "toxic" effect is a panic attack, for which there is a triggering dose for everyone, it can vary wildly person to person but that is the upper limit overall for use.

The above butter recipie looks good, but do pay attention to how small a dose he is reffering to as his subjective enough level, 1/8 of a tea spoon is very small and hard to masure.

If you're talking about using plant material like you would tea leaves, I don't expect you'll experience much (if any) psychoactive effects. Using hash or decarbed material might work slightly better. Personally I wouldn't bother with it for a buzz, but you might like the taste of it?

Then played around with cannabutter and after some trial and error to figure out dosing I won't go back to smoking ever.

I love it. It dries, decarbs and infuses. I have infused coconut oil for baking then I realized just a spoonful of the oil gives the same effects as a pot brownie without the calories. I keep a bottle of infused oil in the fridge and take as needed.

Edibles have a much different high than smoking it so go low at first....no more than 10 mg per serving to start. Get it at your local pot store they have mg measured out for you. Greening out is a much harsher than getting drunk so like alcohol, don't overdo it...and remember it takes a bit of time for the effects of edibles to hit so don't do a second dose thinking you didn't do enough the first time...and don't drive anywhere. (That happened to me!!)

Give it at least 90 minutes....if you feel you're getting too high, ingest some sugar. I keep orange juice around for many reasons

I also suggest anyone who has questions about pot effects to watch Netflix 'Disjointed... even tho its a comedy about a Medical Marijuana Store (owned by 'Ruth' aka Kathy Bates)...they factually explain the effects and use of cannabis to new customers. Its really very funny.
