South Carolina, Dawn Staley land Jerzy Robinson, No. 5 2026 recruit, over UConn, LSU
COLUMBIA — Jerzy Robinson, the No. 5 recruit in the class of 2026, committed to South Carolina women's basketball on Dec. 23.
She chose the Gamecocks over LSU and UConn, the defending national champion who beat coach Dawn Staley twice last season. She's 6-foot and plays for Sierra Canyon High School in California. She revealed the news live on ESPN2.
“I feel like it’s home, it’s peace,” Robinson said about South Carolina.
Robinson took her official visit in late October and was at South Carolina's exhibition game on Oct. 24. She was spotted sitting behind the Gamecocks' bench during the game.
Robinson then went to the football game on Oct. 25 with Staley, current players and legendary Gamecocks player A'ja Wilson, who had just become the WNBA's first four-time MVP.
