The 1982 film Missing about the US backed Chilean coup

features Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek is one of my favorite films. The Kissinger backed coup is still being denied by the US govt. Nothing changes, everything stays the same.

Videos Costa-Gavras_- Missing_- [1982] | OK.RU https://share.google/mxC2M24AepKfSGWNo

I have difficulty watching this film without becoming irate at our govt, especially since the lies and BS continues!!!!!

If you haven't seen it before it may be due to politics . The guilty govt officials sued to keep it under wraps and took the filmmakers to court for libel/slander...guilty as sin!!!!!

Missing (1982 film)
Missing (stylized as missing.) is a 1982 American biographical thriller drama film directed by Costa-Gavras from a screenplay written by Gavras and Donald E. Stewart, adapted from the book The Execution of Charles Horman: An American Sacrifice (1978) by Thomas Hauser (later republished under the title Missing in 1982), based on the disappearance of American journalist Charles Horman, in the aftermath of the United States-backed Chilean coup of 1973, which deposed the democratically elected socialist President Salvador Allende.

The film stars Jack Lemmon, Sissy Spacek, Melanie Mayron, John Shea, Janice Rule and Charles Cioffi. Set largely during the days and weeks following Horman's disappearance, it examines the relationship between Horman's wife Beth and his father Edmund and their subsequent quest to find Horman.

the name of it or which country Horman was executed in. I remember Lemmon searching for his son, hoping he was still alive, but discovering he had been murdered along with hundreds of other on a soccer pitch in a stadium.

I was young and unaware of the broader geopolitics of the Cold War era. This was, after Vietnam, my introduction to the nasty dealings of our government.

Thank you for reviving it here.

That's why the link I provided was unusual. You really have to seek it out. It was shown on TCM in May and I saved it since it is a rough film to get through at certain places. I get pissed off too easily and need to take breaks.

me worse than an alien invasion or demonic possession movie.

I've looked for it before, but gave up. Again, thank you for your persistence.
