Have thought of that, especially watching Lauren Bacall's movies, LOTS of smoking there/then.

I've not smoked, husband did and I suspect it was related to his cancer death, even tho not lung cancer; throat.

get.

Even when I still smoked, I didn't mind the bans because of how gross some people were about it. At our Eagles lodge on a Saturday night, there'd be about three of the same assholes smoking non-stop making it twice as bad.

A story, about when I got some bad burns when I was 6 years old.(so 1966), and in hospital. And she was so upset.
My Dr.took her in his office, and told her to calm down and have cigarette. She told me" that's when I started smoking" in THE Hospital!
Yeah, times have changed.
Stay strong, you can do this.

She quit again, and as far as I know, is still not.

I binge-watched Peaky Blinders right after I quit smoking in early 2023, and I’m grateful I didn’t cave in (ditto with the distilled spirits there!)

And this from someone whose never smoked a cigarette in their life. Not even as a 10-year-old sneaking a puff behind the shed. It's a disgusting habit and it just never appealed to me. So if even I can see its glamor it must be really tough for ex-smokers.
