DU Community Help
Related: About this forumAnother dumb fake quote, this one attributed to Macron, near the top of the Greatest page.
Not one single news story to verify that he said that, or even a less sensational version that was circulating earlier before some twit on X with no concern for the truth decided to make it more sensational by adding the word crybaby.
Anything really quotable said by any world leader, politician or celebrity will very soon have REAL news stories from RELIABLE sources about it. Usually a lot of them.
Some sensational quote circulating on social media for weeks, with zero news stories containing the quote, is pretty much guaranteed fake.
Would it be possible to request in the TOS that DUers verify quotes from famous people instead of just posting memes with fake quotes? It takes only a minute or two to check, because if the quote is real and more than.a few minutes old, a lot of news stories about it should show up near the top of search results.
