Earl, is it possible to have a donation box that is just for credit/debit cards?

And you do not need to create a PayPal account to purchase a Star Membership with a credit or debit card. If you are making a one-time payment, PayPal just processes the card transaction.

that we signed up for PayPal accounts when we absolutely did not.
They also forced the use of debit card by repeatedly refusing credit cards.
PayPal is sleazy.

PayPal is the company that processes credit and debit card payments to DU, but if you are just making a one time payment and not setting up a recurring contribution, you do not need to create a PayPal account.

7. My problem is that I have a PayPal account

but there is some problem that I can't seem to fix, and I am automatically directed there. I can't do anything but go back to merchant after I am automatically logged in. Stupid problem but still a problem. Thanks for listening to my plight.

You have a PayPal account, but you're trying to make the payment without being signed in to PayPal?

The only way I can think of to do this might be to log in and out of PayPal, then clear PayPal cookies in your browser.

Or, open an Incognito or Private window in your browser, sign in to DU again, and then try following the payment instructions. That way, it probably won't try to log you in to PayPal.

You should just be able to make the payment with a credit card from inside your PayPal account though -- is it not letting you do that?

It took me awhile to come up with the solution, but I did and I got hearts to give. Thanks for being there and taking care of us all.

5. I did the "no account" thing.

Asked me for a credit card and I used Apple pay, so that PayPal never even sees my credit card number, only some encrypted string.
