ESPN reporting that DK Metcalf rumored to be heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Seattle Seahawks are trading wide receiver DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are signing the two-time Pro Bowler to a five-year, $150 million contract, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Steelers are sending a second-round draft pick to the Seahawks and flipping picks with Seattle in the sixth and seventh rounds, sources said.

Metcalf had requested a trade out of Seattle on March 5 after he had a series of conversations about his future with the Seahawks the previous two weeks. His trade comes after the Seahawks dealt quarterback Geno Smith to the Los Vegas Raiders earlier this week.

A day after Metcalf's trade request, Seahawks general manager John Schneider said Seattle was "talking to a ton of teams" and taking offers. Schneider made it clear that his obligation in a potential Metcalf trade was to do what's best for the Seahawks, first and foremost -- meaning that if the receiver were dealt, it would be to the team that made Seattle the best offer and not necessarily where he preferred to play.

I could be wrong, but I do not think they played together at Seattle. John1956PA Mar 2025 #4
They definitely were teammates in 2020 and 2021 True Dough Mar 10 #6

My mistake. I was thinking of the Feb. 2014 SB when the opponent was the Broncos. n/t John1956PA Mar 10 #11

Kind of hate to see him go, but we can use the high pick and the cap space.

Pittsburgh's offense is not very dynamic. QB's and O-line are questionable and all coaches are coming back. No playoff wins in 8 years. But he will make some money I guess.

It would be a pretty soft landing for him if so, I’d guess.

I think Russell Wilson was playing at Denver at the time.

Now all that remains to be seen is whether the Steelers will designate Russell Wilson as their starter. The Seahawks were quite a team in the season when they dominated the Ravens in the Super Bowl.

And Monday's going to be even weirder.

All the football analysts I follow were sure that Myles Garrett really, truly wanted to chase a title. I don't begrudge him getting paid AF because he deserves it, but maybe don't make the media rounds SB week saying how much you want a championship more than anything.... because you're not getting one in Cleveland.

And DK to the Steelers...did he go there knowing who's the 2025 QB because opinions seem to be divided on who might be throwing him he ball and their offense isn't exactly high powered. Is Najeei Harris even staying ?
