Did they change the run rule in college softball?

Beth Mowins kept mentioning that Texas' lead was enough to invoke the eight-run five-inning run rule. But I always thought that they didn't use the run rule in the championship series, that they played the full seven innings regardless. UCLA would have run-ruled Oklahoma in the first game of the championship series in 2019, if they had been using the run rule then. Have they changed that rule since then? If they have, Beth Mowins and the other announcers during the telecast of tonight's championship game should have explained that.
