Is this racist of me to say the tattoos on Blacks aren't as colorful as on white people???

Watching the NBA Milwaukee vs Boston…..lotsa players have tattoos and you can see them…but on the white guys they’re more colorful. Is that racist of me to even mention it??

Tattoos are not on the surface. They sit under the melanin or lack thereof. Lighter skin is more easily seen through. Marcuse Dec 2024 #18

Would "tattoo" colors be more vibrant with people with white skin vs. black skin? If you don't know, why would this be worthy of an OP?

I don't know why, though. I've seen enough of your posts to think this is an off-night for you.

Once told me he didn't understand why some black ppl got tattoos bc the darker the skin, the harder to see them.

Made me think hmmmmm.... he's got a point.

All skin has undertones, and the undertones WILL shift the appearance of the finished work. For instance, if you have yellow undertones and you tattoo in red, the finished ink will look orangish. Tattoo with yellow ink over blue undertones and it'll go greenish.

Dark skin has really strong undertones so it'll heavily shift the appearance of the piece. There aren't all that many tattoo artists who understand color well enough to compensate for that...however, if you use black ink it'll still look black when the tattoo heals.

It is very popular with the current young cohort. I'm not a fan but I'm not going to judge it.

Just a common observation. Here's another one, most of the NBA and NFL players are Black. Is that racist to say?

Some are calling him racist, saying he is trying to become 'black'.

Fucking ludicrous charge, IMHO, speaking as as mixed race black female.

Machine Gun Kelly, btw.

Can never assume many here know 'current' (the bloke is 34 now, so hardly some youngster) musical culture.
