Robert Kraft reportedly wants to know why Jerry Jones is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and he isn't

At the age of 83, New England Patriots team owner Robert Kraft has six Super Bowls to his name and is waiting to hear his name called by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It has not been a happy wait, according to a story published Wednesday from ESPN's Don Van Natta Jr.

Over the course of the last decade or so, Kraft's camp, led by Patriots PR head Stacey James, has been pushing to get Kraft enshrined in Canton, Ohio, with zero success. The 12-person subcommittee determining the final ballot hasn't even forwarded his name once to the full 50 selectors.

The wait has reportedly left Kraft frustrated, so much so that he had some choice words about the enshrinement of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones:

Kraft saw the selection of [Jerry Jones] as an insult, a verdict that Jones is more responsible for the NFL's astonishing success."He hasn't been to the NFC title game in two decades and he gets in?" Kraft told a confidant. "How does that work?"

him and the team hasn't had much success since Johnson was let go. But Jones hasn't been known to frequent massage parlors for sex...that may have something to do with why Kraft is not in the Hall of Fame.

Kraft should think about that it is possible the ones doing the selection found Jerry Jones to be less reprehensible in comparison. To be more reprehensible than JJ is a staggering accomplishment in itself.

5. If you only look at what took place inside the white lines, then he has a case.

Is that all that should matter in being inducted into a HOF, though? Well, that's the question, isn't it? I have relatives who worship Pete Rose and who continuously lament his exclusion from baseball (it's SW Ohio, so there's a lot of that here). The recent story about the underage girl quieted them a bit, but I know they still think he's getting a raw deal from MLB.

Me? I'm not sure how to answer that question. I guess I see both sides of it. Ty Cobb was a hell of a ballplayer, his on-field accomplishments are legendary and certainly HOF-worthy. Of course, he was also a despicable, racist human being who once went into the stands at a game in New York and beat the crap out of a disabled fan who was heckling him. Still, he's in the HOF. Pete bet on baseball, and he's not. Nor is Shoeless Joe.

So, look at every aspect of their life in and out of the game, or only look at the numbers. Maybe just be consistent, though.

Kraft sits in the background, unless he's getting a happy ending, and lets others build & run the team. Jerry is actively the GM for his team, and demands to be the center of attention.
