Pardons a rapper convicted on guns related charges

Louisiana rap artist NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden and whose stage moniker stands for “Never Broke Again,” also received a Trump pardon.

In 2024, he was sentenced to just under two years in prison on gun-related charges after he acknowledged having possessed weapons despite being a convicted felon. Gaulden also pleaded guilty to his role in a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah.

Despite the commutation of his federal sentence, Hoover still faces a 200-year state sentence for the 1973 murder of William "Pooky" Young, a 19-year-old neighborhood drug dealer in Chicago. The federal charges, which resulted in six life terms in 1997, came decades after his state conviction

And thinks that makes up for pausing Job Corps which trains people to step into skilled jobs (welding, plumbing, etc etc).

3. trump is trying to appeal to the conspiracy nut jobs and misogynistic black men. The same ones that supported him and

are now seeing that he is a disaster for them. Well at least some of them are seeing the light. There is this weird section of black folks that have their own manosphere/misogynistic/Q-anon cultish following. This appeals to them. trump and the GOP know that they will not win over most black people, but if they can get just enough, they may be successful in elections. The Hoover thing is performative. He still has to do state time. Although, now they are pressuring Gov. Pritzker to pardon him. I hope he does not. There are people far more deserving of a pardon than Hoover.
Maybe he is genuine when he says he has changed. IMO, setting him free is Akin to setting El Chapo free. He made over 100 million dollars a year as a drug king pin. Even behind bars, he was calling shots. How many ruined lives? ruined communities because of the poison he sold to vulnerable people? How many deaths from overdose? How many people ended up in prison to feed their addiction? leaving children behind? and on and on?

There is also a push to free Tory Lanez, the rapper that shot Megan The Stallion. Same thing, pushed by conspiracy minded misogynistic nut jobs.
In their world, all these awful people were rail roaded, Bill Cosby, R. Kelly and even Diddy. Women are liars. Same folks trashed Fanni Willis.
I don't see trump and the GOP taking up the cause of black men that were really railroaded or given harsh sentences for minor offenses.

Other than Alice Johnson - whom he pardoned to pander to black folks, I don't know of any other " ordinary" black person he pardoned.
The rest have been rappers, people associated with rappers like this guy and Snoop's friend - and corrupt politicians like Kwame.
Where is the pardon for the black 16 yr old kid that made a mistake that changed his life and is still incarcerated?
Where is the pardon for guys that were caught up in "3 strikes you are out?" - Life sentence after 3 offenses. One guy received his 3rd strike for stealing a fork.
Why is he languishing in prison and you want to free someone that profited from poisoning his community and ruined countless lives?
I don't recall if the guy that stole the fork had a drug problem, but there are many people in prison because they became addicted to the poison Hoover sold.

Meanwhile, he is arresting immigrants at work and telling us he is getting rid of dangerous criminals. At the same time freeing insurrectionists, fraudsters, drug dealers.
