(6,440 posts)I was in Bletchley Park recently. Really interesting experience. Also there is the National Museum of Computing.
There are a growing number of books and documentaries that have explored the many aspects of the work at Bletchley Park and the young women who provided so much of its "manpower". So much of this history was concealed under the Official Secrets Act, only a trickle of information finally emerging in the 1970s and much still hidden into the 1990s and beyond.
I have been going down these rabbit holes in the weeks since my visit. Tell me what your particular interests and I will relate what I've learned.

(126 posts)I've been watching a BBC limited series called Blechley Circle. It's set in the early 1950's and follows four women who worked as code breakers during the war. It's a sort of detective series. The woman question some event in the news and using their talents solve the mystery on their own.
Very well done and beautifully shot. Everything from wardrobe to set dressing is spot on.
