57 years ago today, Sirhan B. Sirhan fired the fatal shot...

assassinating Senator Robert F. Kennedy (Sr.) America would never be the same.

RFK has been my political hero for as long as I can remember. His vision of caring for and uplifting others, the "least" of us, has been my guiding star in politics. America was robbed of its soul that day, and it has never been returned to us. That theft has given us Nixon, Reagan, the bushes, and now tRump, to name only a few. Along the way, we suffered Jesse Helms ("Senator No" ), Newt Gingrich, Addison McConnell, Rafael Cruz, MT Greene, Gym Jordan, and a host of other unsavory characters. Our task now is to reclaim the legacy of RFK, and rebuild America in his image.

RIP, Bobby. We miss you very much. (I'm truly sorry your namesake turned out the way he has.)

remember that day. I just finished my first year at community college and living at home. I remember waking up that morning….though I was having a dream….and the story was about JFK.

This country has missed so many chances to be truly great. Wise and empathetic leaders murdered, and exceptional leaders stomped on by rethuglicans. We can't get out of our own freakin' way! Look at the total mess we have now that is dragging the country down to bargain basement level.

This is a guy who served as an attorney, along with Trump's mentor, Roy Cohn, on Joe McCarthy's red scare witch hunt. Joe McCarthy was Godfather to one of his children.

RFK and JFK had a lot of their father in themselves, not a good thing. I consider JFK to be the worst Democratic President of the 20th century except, maybe Woodrow Wilson. The Roosevelt's, Eleanor and Franklin, the greatest Democrats of the 20th century - maybe any century - despised Joe Kennedy, for good reason, and Eleanor certainly wasn't fond of their son the President.

The positive reputations of RFK and JFK may have more to do with being assassinated than with being great men.

I may be alone in being unsurprised how RFK's son, worm brain, turned out.
