Related: About this forumVet visit for Fuzzy
Fuzzy is our Huscadore (Husky/Lab mix). He is 13. Today we took him in for yearly shots and heart worm check. He has a lot of lumps which are generally fatty tissue and arent a problem. The nice lady vet listened to his heart and lungs for longer than usual. She then asked if she could take some x-rays.
It turns out she heard a heart murmur. The x-rays showed an enlarged heart. Fuzzy hasnt been coughing but he will pant more than he used to. There were also some areas on his lower lungs that might indicate some fluid from bronchitis or pneumonia even though he hasnt been coughing. He does snore a fair amount. The vet said that this is common for large dogs. It is not time for good-by yet but we were saddened by the news. Fuzzy is getting a diuretic for two weeks so they can get a better view of his lungs. He still seems as happy as ever.
Kindly send some good vibes his way.

Fuzzy is the third dog we have had. The first two, Marvin and Barkley, liked me but were my wifes dogs. Fuzzy likes my wife a lot but he is my little (not so little 68 lbs) guy. As our adopted son says to me youre Fuzzys hero.
He is Fuzzy because the APL (Mrs. Bird and I call them the used dog lot) had a picture of him when he was shedding due to the Husky double coat and he looked fuzzy. So that was his name.
I hope he lives as long as he wants with no pain. We have had to put our first two dogs to rest and it sucks but we will if the time comes for Fuzzy.
