What's for Dinner, Sat., Dec. 13, 2025

Crabcakes and honey walnut shrimp.

Tossed green salad. Cherry tomatoes, green and yellow peppers, cucumbers, red onion.

Half a spaghetti squash with onion, sundried tomato pesto, feta cheese, herbs like marjoram and rosemary, garlic, black olives, and chopped spinach, sauteed.

Dessert: I have an entire cabinet full of chocolate which has to go ignored for four more days because I can only have one chocolate a day and yesterday I had four. The RG keeps sending me chocolates. It is crazy. Every day I get another delivery.

I recently had some cabinets cleaned out and it's a good thing I did; otherwise, there would be no place for them. I'm going to try going dessert-free tonight. Sob. 😒

Air frying chx breasts & will have sweet potato & salad with mine.

Enjoy!

Sorry to hear of your need to cut back on desserts. Ask for 80% cocoa chocolate. Much healthier, although I dearly looove milk chocolate and I absolutely should not even think about eating that stuff...

Tonight is our monthly neighborhood dinner get together in our (unused) Vermont village church. It’s within walking distance….snow, old houses with little white Christmas lights, the usual neighborhood guard dogs. I look forward to the walk as much as I do the get together.

Our dinner theme is “Italian Night” and everyone brings something. I’m bringing green beans sautéed with soy cashews and some Italian bread. Others are bringing eggplant Parmesan, spaghetti with sauce, lemon spaghetti, lasagna, Sicilian lamb, garlic bread,
Cannoli, cheesecake, pistachio cookies. There should be about 30 of us.

Raucous atmosphere, great conversation, lots of support, a gazillion hugs, and then there is the Trash Trump hour….or two.

Hugs to all~

Too much chocolate? What a problem to have… But yeah, I get how easy it is to overdo. (Gods, now my dark chocolate orange thingies are calling! )

Just returned from one of our favorite Thai restaurants. A cold miserable day here was perfect for a delicious hot curry. I had green curry and my wife ordered red, with brown rice. We started our meal with Vietnamese hot and sour soup. Everything was great. Cheers!🥂
