Related: About this forumStarted sprouts last Thursday
They were ready to eat today. I had some jalapeno chicken left from yesterday, so I made a salad and had a warm wrap on the side. I can have another later today.
The sprouts are an organic mix. I mixed a partial bag of radish seeds into the main bag of seeds. Noticed and enjoyed the extra zing

(1,298 posts)Did you plant them in pots like a usual vegetable?
Went to see kidney dietician and she wants me to add sprouts to my lunch sandwich. Scared to purchase them at the grocery store.
Thanks!

(20,377 posts)My kids got me started, and keep me supplied with seeds and encouragement to grow them. The plastic lids have stubby legs to help with drainage and maybe air flow (?)
I put the seeds in the jar, rinse them with clear fresh water, then cover them with more water and let them soak for a few hours in the sun. I drain them, and turn the jar either on a slant or upside down in a plastic container and put the whole setup in a cupboard. Every 24 hours, I rinse and drain with fresh water. They are ready in about 4 days.
If you try to grow sprouts, let us hear how they turn out

(39,551 posts)I used to have those lids and jars, but they got lost in a move a long time ago. Might try it again that way. Meantime, here is the way I've been growing them:
Wasabi mustard greens.
