My sister brought me some spices from her trip to Morocco and I make the chicken similar to your recipe except without capers. Preserved lemons are used as well as my Italain mother's home made cured green olives. I serve it with couscous. It's so good I eat it for breakfast.

This also reminds me of Tony Bourdain picking capers in Sicily in 2005. He was so funny, he picked 4 capers and was exhausted. It is at the 25 minute time stamp. It's free but has commercials. I can see how similar Mediterranean ingredients are used in various countries in that area ofnthe world.
