Homemade barbecue sauce for a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries.
I was trying to buy BBQ sauce but so many of them have high fructose corn syrup, not to mention the other additives. Consequently, I decided to make my own using this recipe, which requires an entire cup of ketchup. Fortunately I have an extra in the pantry. The recipe also has brown sugar and molasses, plus tomato juice.
The sweet potato fries will actually be spiralized. I found I prefer them this way because they are lighter than cottage or French fries. Now I've taken to cutting scallion greens into little short pieces and adding seeds like fennel to them. Really good! Especially with just a little lemon juice.
And of course a green salad, tossed with romaine and red tip. Cherry tomatoes, red and green pepper, celery, cucumber, asparagus tips. Mediterranean vinaigrette, which has basil and oregano for the herbs.
Cherry kombucha.
Hot Earl Grey tea for later; maybe a bit of one of those Turkish cookies my friend gave me.

(800 posts)Mexican cornbread. Some one gave me a bag of red grapefruits so I made a citrus salad with shallots and used a lime with white balsamic and honey dressing. Plan to build a fire later. temp has not gotten above 22 today.
It was goooood. Will probably have another one later.
