Weird egg prices

Yesterday, I went grocery shopping. Most of the egg prices were $8.99 and up per dozen. In the back of the cooler, there were cartons of 18 eggs for $4.99! They were fresh and perfectly fine. The manager said that farm had a surplus.

Weird.

but I always pay the higher price for cage-free and organic. I think I paid $5.39, something like that.

all they had left was a single pallet with organic brown eggs $8.19 for 24 so that's what I got.

We don't eat them very often and have been mixing in egg whites when we make an omelet or something.
