Prices similar in Knoxville last week at Food City. These are just basic large eggs.
There are more expensive eggs up to about $10.00 per dozen.

Costco had white eggs from a local producer at $6.69 for 18. No brown eggs, no cage-free, no pastured.

$5.99/dozen jumbo eggs. Extra large were $5.89, so why not. Bacon, by the way, is $4.99/lb. When bacon is cheaper than eggs...
