What's for Dinner, Tues., Jan., 21, 2025

Posting early due to working late.

When I get home from work tonight, I'll be going on to step 2 of my pumpkin soup, which means cooking the onion, adding the herbs, and putting it all in the blender, etc. I will also have LaFrieda sausages. The RG loves that kind of sausage.

Here is a pic of my white pumpkin which I cut up and cooked in my new slow cooker.

I washed the seeds and am drying them to toast later on. Also a few to plant next year.

Kombucha: ginger.

Dessert: a friend stopped by with a package of the new Tate's soft baked chocolate chip cookies, so I guess I will renage on my no-sugar dessert plan and at least taste one. Probably freeze the others so I am not tempted.

I added some precooked hamburger I had in the frig. Mini naan from the freezer and a few samosas with mint chutney. Also a premade frozen product but tasty.
This will be my main meal of the day.

Our neighbor, an elderly widow, is coming for dinner. I’m going to broil a beautiful sirloin and serve it with a mushroom and garlic sauce. Wild rice and steamed asparagus for sides. She’s going to bring dessert which means it’ll be some delectable baked goodie. Burgundy, ice water and coffee for beverages.

Will mix in some steamed sweet corn and use a 1/2 measuring cup as a mold to plate them (2 to each plate) then into the microwave. Air-fried cauliflower florets, boiled parsley red potatoes and fresh avocado slices as sides. Apple pie oatmeal cookies (no eggs or oil) for dessert. Iced black tea with lemon. Cheers! 🥂

the leftover dal, chicken korma from Sunday, and leftover braised cabbage. Sort of an Indo-European dinner.
