Opened a can of San Marzano tomatoes and there are leaves in it! Would it be safe to pick out the leaves and cook with the tomatoes? These are large leaves, not little pieces.

(1,732 posts)There could be basil or oregano in there. If you can't positively identify the mystery leaves, throw it away.

(1,732 posts)Take a photo and send it with a friendly but concerned letter. I have done this twice and received coupons for free stuff, plus a nice response assuring me I was a valued customer.
