Related: About this forumShould Taiwan be worried about losing US support? - DW News
As US President Donald Trump's administration attempts to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, another democracy with a large, authoritarian neighbor is watching the negotiations closely. Many people in Taiwan feel that Trump has taken Russia's side in the conflict, and that doesn't bode well for the East Asian democracy, which is largely dependent on the US for its national defense. Beijing's military drills on Wednesday in the Taiwan Straight have only added to a sense of emergency for many of the island's citizens. However, Taiwanese officials are still hoping that they can keep Trump as a loyal friend. DW correspondent James Chater reports from Taipei.

And figure out a delivery system.
Trump won't defend America unless he gets something out of it.
