How about this for an idea?

All of the other NATO countries get together and say, "If the USA withdraws from NATO, Ukraine will automatically be admitted."

Sounds good to me.

You don't want 27 or so nations going to war in Europe. It would be WW 3. No thanks.

that it IS World War III already.

Putin started it by invading Ukraine as surely as Hitler started WW II by invading Poland.

I'm not sure it can be avoided.

The nuclear USA went to war against nuclear China in Vietnam in 1963. The nukes didn't fly because it was a proxy war.

The USA is at war with nuclear Russia in Ukraine but we are all still alive because it is a proxy war.

When two nuclear armed entities go at each other directly we will all be dead. THAT is the difference.
