Why Did the Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Take So Long? - William Spaniel

Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire, set to begin tomorrow. Why did it just come about now, and not six months ago? Alternatively, why now and not a year from now? This video examines the end of war from the perspective of militarized conflict as a continuation of bargaining. For fighting to terminate, something about the act of war itself must have changed why a negotiated resolution was unacceptable to one party before but became acceptable after. We examine a few of the possibilities here.
