A lot of evil is being unleashed on society and the planet from the Oval Office. Still, nothing compares to the possible Trump decision to overturn a 2009 EPA finding that planet-heating gases threaten human health and the planet's biosphere.
If the administration succeeds in these new rules, it will devastate and dismantle the fight against global heating put in place to protect the climate system.
The EPA published the finding, and a bullet point presentation at the start of the finding reads:
Endangerment Finding: The Administrator finds that the current and projected concentrations of the six key well-mixed greenhouse gasescarbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6)in the atmosphere threaten the public health and welfare of current and future generations.
Cause or Contribute Finding: The Administrator finds that the combined emissions of these well-mixed greenhouse gases from new motor vehicles and new motor vehicle engines contribute to the greenhouse gas pollution that threatens public health and welfare.
These findings do not themselves impose any requirements on industry or other entities. However, this action was a prerequisite for implementing greenhouse gas emission standards for vehicles and other sectors.
Trump's EPA director is giddy over the reversal if Trump gives the ok. In reality, it will "devastate climate protections".
Oliver Milman writes in The Guardian -Trump officials decimate climate protections and consider axeing key greenhouse gas finding
Zeldin wrote that Wednesday was the most consequential day of deregulation in American history and that we are driving a dagger through the heart of climate-change religion and ushering in Americas Golden Age.
Zeldin boasted about the changes and said his agencys mission was to lower the cost of buying a car, heating a home and running a business.
Lee Zeldin, the EPA administrator, said the agency would reconsider the endangerment finding due to concerns that it had spawned an agenda that throttles our industries, our mobility, and our consumer choice while benefiting adversaries overseas.

I wish they were acting in ignorance. It would make it easier to forgive them.

The Lord will have to forgive them; I have no intention of ever doing so.
