Market conditions caused natural gas rates to increase 128% since December

Definitely very high bill the last two months. Today's bill clocked in at $136.57!

We live in a mild climate. Curious to hear if this is a nationwide hike.

Please share your gas February gas bill and location. Thanks

The last two months I’m sending them a quarter of the amount with every pay check. It’s been steadily below freezing since January and supposed to get cold again this weekend. I won’t even use my gas fireplace for fear of not being able to afford it

We live in New Jersey.

We have experienced some unusual cold weather recently as well.

This is a repeat of 2023. Apparently it's the cost of delivery. But SoCal shouldn't have the same problems that say Massachusetts has.

I thought the link i posted was updated as I found it while searching for news anout price increase. Until you pointed out I didn't realize it was the original 2022 date.

I'm trying to find out the cost of natural gas nationwide. Is it hitting everyone or specifically some areas like SoCal.

May I ask what is your natural gas bill amount and where are you?

It's one of the concerns with using NG as a fuel - fluctuations in cost.

Plus the expansion in exports via new CNG terminals coming online sure doesn't help.

Utilities normally buy NG w long term contracts, buying what they project they will need. But if the weather is colder than normal, they will have to buy on the spot market. Speculators will have bid up the price and we get the bill.

My utility bill has 6 lines of cost for NG.

Much appreciated. Can you explain this map?

It appears that CA is far and away loaded with CNG stations. So, then why such high costs where weather isn't a factor as it is where there are few stations? I'm perplexed.

... is because CA is paying the bills for cold weather states. Why?

There are very few commercially available cars that use CNG, how many are in CA?

I wonder if it has to do with CA banning fracking? Where does most of NG come from in CA?

And the stove. That is why I question our charges. Gas pump prices are also high right now $4.40 a gal for regular.

This seems like Enron all over. "Burn, baby burn".

flat out.
Reduce prices for the US citizens where the NG is being produced.

Instead of Obama rejecting the 40 year-old ban on petrol/oil exports (created to keep prices low for the US), he should've added NG and all our energy prices would be lower.
