Fabrics outlet Joann will shutter all of its approximately 800 locations after failing to find a buyer who would keep its stores open.
In a statement, the company said it would commence nationwide going-out-of-business sales as a stipulation of the group that won its assets at auction.

There will be no place within a hundred miles to buy any fabric except 100% cotton (quilt shops).

They had the better selection of fabrics. My local store had wonderful stock for costumes for Halloween, DragonCon, etc.
I'm also bothered that more people don't find sewing crafts enjoyable.

The Glendale, CA Joann's is the best place around here for yarn. Michael's sucks. I don't want to resort to online buying! I will definitely seek out smaller specialty shops.
