Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates square off in debate as election day nears
EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates Brad Schimel and Susan Crawford held a debate Wednesday in Milwaukee.
The two candidates spoke on a variety of issues including abortion rights, voter ID, Act 10 and how outside donors such as Elon Musk and George Soros could be influencing the election. When asked about the biggest issue facing the Wisconsin's Supreme Court, Crawford did not give a straight answer.
"The important thing for voters is that the cases that come before the Supreme Court can involve a wide array of issues of great importance to Wisconsinites. They can involve issues of public safety, of fundamental rights, things like whether we have clean drinking water," she said.
Schimel explained the court is suffering from partisan politics when the court is supposed to be non-partisan. He argued this is slowing down the number of cases that get accepted and when those cases are ruled on.
