Musk's PAC starting TV buy in state Supreme Court race as spending ramps up
Elon Musk’s Building America’s Future is going up on TV in Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race later this week with at least $671,000 in ads statewide, part of a flurry of new activity that has tilted the spending advantage to conservative Brad Schimel.
The Musk-aligned group is scheduled to start its buy Thursday with the initial run through March 5 on broadcast TV in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, La Crosse and Wausau, according to a Dem media buyer.
It comes on the heels of Fair Courts America, which is funded largely by conservative donor Dick Uihlein, filing a report with the state showing it plans to spend $1.35 million on a TV buy. Meanwhile, House Freedom Action reported a $49,020 digital buy opposing Susan Crawford in the race.
Between the independent expenditure reports filed with the state, buys tracked by AdImpact and information shared by sources with knowledge of buys, the spending backing Schimel so far had hit $7.5 million as of Monday afternoon.
