Trader Joe's files plans to open Northgate location

Trader Joe's, the popular specialty grocer, has filed plans to open a location in Northgate Station.

King County permit records show that the company has completed a building and land use pre-application for the space.

Site plans indicate the new location at 401 NE Northgate Way would occupy the former Bed Bath and Beyond space, which closed in 2023.

Northgate Station, which is managed by Simon Property Group, could not be reached for comment. Trader Joe's declined to address the Northgate Station plans or a potential timeline.

They’re good and much cheaper than the Thomas brand I had been buying. Or stopped buying when they spiked the price to almost six bucks a while back.

We have enough national franchises here in King County. We DO NOT NEED another Trader Joe's. Try supporting your local farmer's markets, fruit stands and open farm days. Support your local folks FIRST. They are all hurting right now. Support the people in YOUR OWN communities.

ENOUGH with the national franchises.
