The empathy struggle when cuts hit WA's Trump country

I keep reading these interviews of Trump voters who got fired, or whose family member got deported, or whose business is being whipsawed by tariffs. My knee-jerk reaction is the same as it is for the 4th District: What in the world did you expect?

So part of me says: Let ‘em have it. Good and hard, if that’s how it turns out.

But again: Isn’t this what Trump country signed up for? It’s what he said he would do. Sure there’s the chaos, and his kinglike heedlessness for the rule of law, but that was all easily foreseeable based on Trump’s governing style the first time around.

I doubt I could count a single Trump voter among my friends and acquaintances. It's nice living in the bluest part of one of the bluest states.

And I have zero sympathy for any Trump voters. It's just too bad we will all have to live with the horrors of these next four years.

because they had an epiphany that he is a bigoted con man, and voting for such a corrupt, morally bankrupt person would put people's lives in danger and potentially destroy this country.
Nope. I have yet to hear any of these folks talk about how bad he is for the entire country. They are only upset about their own issue. If they got their job back tomorrow and trump continued to destroy other people's lives, they would have no problem with it. If democrats fight to make sure they get what they need, they still turn around and vote for republicans.
Nope. Nope. I don't feel sorry for any of them.

Are the Democrats just going to forgive and forget the red areas when they've done just about everything to sabotage our entire system?

While we'll never probably get a super majority in all 3 branches of government, in all honesty nether have the Republicans and they've seemed to bully and push their advantage way beyond their mandate. Dems never seem to be willing to just say damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!

We really need to put in safeguards to limit damage these psychopaths keep doing to everyone just because of spite. If red states don't want tax supported programs then who am I to force them to participate? Make federal money available by match. That way areas that want services, good roads, adequate public schools can have them if they're willing to contribute to them. Those that don't, can wallow in the cesspool they've created.
