Central, Eastern Washington counties face key project funding, school levy decisions in today's election

WASHINGTON - A number of funding measures for public facilities and schools around Central and Eastern Washington are at stake in today’s special election.

Voters in Benton County will decide whether to authorize a sales and use tax increase of 0.2% for a performing arts center while some will also decide the fate of levies in the Richland and Kiona-Benton school districts.

In Yakima County, two propositions are on the ballot, one for a levy in the Wahluke School district and one for a replacement levy in the Toppenish School District.

Voters in Kittitas County will decide whether to approve a replacement levy in the Damman School District, a levy for school buses in the Thorp School District and a levy for improvements at the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District.
