HOUSE REDISTRICTING HEARING

Please submit online testimony

How to submit online written testimony.

Submit before 2 pm on June 24

Online written testimony will be taken until the hearing ends, which will be around 7 pm.

Even if you are coming to Austin, submit your comments online!

Here is the form
https://comments.house.texas.gov/home?c=c055

Make sure to indicate that you are representing yourself.

Under the bills and topics section, go to

Congressional Redistricting, Select July 24, 2025 - 2:00 PM or upon final adjourn./recess or bill referral if permission granted [E1.030]
and hit the Select button.

The form also seems to want to add some bill numbers, but you can delete them. (There is no bill number at this time)

Cheat sheet for written testimony.

It’s awesome if you are eloquent and can think of how to write this yourself
But, I couldn’t. So, I had to copy and paste from the cheat sheet.

Copy and paste a paragraph or as many as you want from the cheat sheet.
Comments are limited to 3,000 characters.

You can even say something very simple like, “I’m against this redistricting. It is unfair”.

Your testimony will go on record as being against the redistricting. This is important because this redistricting will go to court. Your opposition to it and why you oppose it will be preserved for the court to review when they make their decisions about the maps.

Tips:
Try not to sound too partisan in your comments.
I avoided the terms “Trump” and “Republican” in my comments, and replaced them with "President of the United States" and "political gain” instead.

Emphasize that representation for communities of colors will be diluted
Emphasize that the process is rushed, unfair and not transparent etc

IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE GOING TO AUSTIN, ALSO SUBMIT YOUR TESTIMONY ONLINE. THEY ARE LIMITING TESTIMONY TO FIVE HOURS.

RALLY AT 12:30 PM with Beto, Greg Casar, Gina Hinojosa and more!!

If you miss submitting your comments before this hearing dismisses there will be two other hearings you can select from on June 26 and June 28

This is not hard to do!

Likewise the senate hearings begin on Friday. Save your script and cut and paste it into the Senate's form.

You can also testify via Zoom for the senate, but must reserve your spot ahead of time.
