San Antonio runoff election sees higher turnout for early voting

Final early voting tallies from the Bexar County Elections Department show that approximately 7.57% of registered voters cast their ballot from May 27-June 3.

According to the Texas secretary of state, Bexar County has 1.3 million registered voters. Data released June 3 shows that 98,411 voters cast their ballots during the early voting period countywide. This is a 32% increase when compared to the early voting turnout for the May 3 election, which saw 74,092 ballots cast.

Cody Branch Library saw the highest turnout with 10,176 ballots cast, followed by Brookhollow Branch Library with 9,317, Maverick Branch Library with 6,157, Semmes Branch Library with 5,997 and Tobin Branch Library at Oakwell with 5,909 ballots cast.

Ballots feature City Council candidates from District 8 and 9 and candidates for the mayor.
