Beaumont plans first bond election since 1983, seeks public input in online survey

The City of Beaumont is preparing for its first bond election in 42 years, since March 1983.

The city is seeking public input via a community survey regarding a potential November bond election, which will fund city projects, including potential infrastructure improvements like water and sewer projects, park improvements, public buildings, sidewalks, and roads.

The survey also aims to gauge how much the public is willing to pay for any proposed improvements.

The city's bond advisory committee will use this feedback to help finalize project selections for the ballot, with the city council expected to vote on the bond in August.

After Hurricanes Rita, Ike, and Harvey this is sorely needed, in my opinion.

I hope this passes especially given that FEMA may not be around anymore.
