SPOTLIGHT RACE: Sean Patrick Brennan for OH-HD14
My dad left us when I was a young boy. As a result, my single mother God rest her soul - lost the house and we were nearly homeless. For a time, we were on food stamps and other public assistance programs. She worked at May Company for low wages and struggled to raise my sister and me. So, when it came time for me to go to college, luckily I was awarded some academic scholarships and was also eligible for financial need scholarships, including the federal Pell Grant. Lets just say that I would not be where I am today without the help of Uncle Sam (U.S.) and generous folks who helped us out. My life experience is why I have dedicated my life to giving back.
