Mamdani Leads Latest General Election Poll, Mayor Adams Lags Behind
NEW YORK CITY — Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani holds a 10 point lead in the mayoral general election race, while Mayor Eric Adams ranks in a distant fourth, according to a new poll released Wednesday.
The poll conducted by political consulting firm Slingshot Strategies found Mamdani ahead with 35 percent of the vote, followed by Cuomo in second place with 25 percent, Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa with 14 percent and Adams in fourth place with 11 percent.
Independent candidate Jim Walden was at 1 percent. Thirteen percent of voters said they weren't sure yet who they voted for, while 1 percent picked another candidate.
Pollsters surveyed 1,036 registered New York City voters between July 2-6 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points.
