Pro-Cuomo super PAC still raising money as it looks to back 'free-market candidate' for mayor

Fix the City, a super PAC that spent an unprecedented amount of money to boost Andrew Cuomo’s mayoral primary campaign, is continuing to raise cash despite his loss with an eye toward backing a “free-market candidate” in November’s general election, the Daily News has learned.

The PAC, which spent more than $22 million on ads and other messaging boosting Cuomo’s primary campaign, has taken in $300,000 in donations since the ex-governor’s stunning loss to socialist Zohran Mamdani in the June 24 Democratic mayoral primary.

A rep for Fix the City said it has continued to accept cash since Cuomo’s loss because the PAC’s donor base has asked it to play a role in November’s general mayoral election, too. Specifically, the rep said there’s calls for the PAC to back “a free-market candidate” in the November race who has “the experience to govern effectively.”

Fix the City hasn’t decided on a specific candidate to back, however, or committed absolutely to get engaged in the general election.
