Curtis Sliwa receives Republican Party endorsements for mayor
As Mayor Eric Adams was said to have contacted some Republican county leaders to explore the possibility of changing parties, the Staten Island and Brooklyn Republican parties endorsed their own mayoral candidate this week — Curtis Sliwa.
Sliwa, who officially filed with the city’s Campaign Finance Board Friday, is the founder of the Guardian Angels, a nonprofit group with the goal of “promoting community safety and betterment for the good of society overall,” according to their website.
Sliwa is also a radio show host and was the Republican nominee for mayor in 2021.
He joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to talk about the race and more.
