...to cast my vote for Mickie Sherrill. She's not perfect to my mind, but she favors nuclear plants in New Jersey as do I. I like her resume, in particular her education and military service that her father told her she would not find accessible.
I felt they were all well informed, the other candidates.
I liked Ras Baraka's wit but a good friend said he'd sit out the election were he the candidate since he believed Baraka to be an antisemite. I value my friends opinion.
Steve Sweeney knows how government works and gas a sense of what it means to be working class, but he supports gas plants in New Jersey.
Gottheimer's view of energy is consistent with mine, pronuclear, but I'm too old to vote for someone who wants to cut taxes without clear statements of how to do so with specifics.
I can't quite put my finger on my objection to Fulop, so as to articulate it, but one thing I saw when he was asked to comment on Governor Murphy was that Murphy was "late" on cannabis legalization. I don't like having a cannabis shop about 150 meters from our high school. There's also some vague disquiet about Fulop. I applaud however his comment in the debate about Rutgers valuing football over education.
Someone at DU disabused me of considering Spiller.
I'll fill out my ballot tonight, and drive it to the drop off box.
