Washoe DA Hicks (R) announces re-election bid for 2026
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks has announced his bid for re-election in 2026.
Hicks was first elected in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018 and 2022.
“I consider myself blessed to do the job I love in the community I cherish,” Hicks said. “Being District Attorney is about duty, public safety, and justice under the law. It’s not about politics, notoriety, or climbing a political ladder, it’s about family, commitment and community. I’m a prosecutor first and always. I will never stop fighting for justice, accountability, and safety, not just because it’s my job, but because it’s who I am.”
Hicks currently serves President of the Nevada District Attorneys Association, Vice Chair of Nevada’s Prosecutor Advisory Council, and a member of the Board of Directors for the National District Attorneys Association.
