Absentee ballots for May 6 election now available This ad will end in 14 seconds

MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - Voters in some municipalities in Michigan will be heading to the polls this May.

In the U.P., there are special elections in Marquette, Delta, Keweenaw, and Mackinac Counties. For those in Marquette County, absentee ballots are now available.

There are two proposals on the ballot: one to renew a millage in Richmond Township for general operations and one bond proposal for Gwinn Area Community Schools. Marquette County Clerk Linda Talsma says even though the ballot is a little light this election, it’s still important to vote.

She says voting with an absentee ballot is a great way to make sure your vote is counted.
