Political groups aim to increase voter turnout for 2024 election
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The countdown to the November election has reached the 47-day mark, and that’s why candidates are in their final push to get people to the polls.
Campaign teams on both sides of the political aisle are going after undecided voters, unregistered voters and voters who have their candidate — they just don’t go to the polls.
They’re all a valuable resource for Michigan’s Republican and Democratic parties, with both looking for any tactic to push their respective candidates ahead.
“We are going after what we identify as low propensity voters,” said Michigan Republican Party Chair Pete Hoekstra. “People who are identified as conservative voters, people who are going to vote for the Republican ticket. People who are going to vote for Donald Trump.”
