Boat capsizes near 'anchorage zone' by Washington Monument after July 4th fireworks.

Five men were rescued after a boat capsized on the Potomac River on the Fourth of July.

According to DC Fire, the boat flipped near the Washington Monument. Rescue teams on the Potomac responded to the capsized boat after fireworks wrapped up on the National Mall.

The fire department said the boaters were in the "anchorage zone," where boats are supposed to stop and drop anchor to make sure they stay in the safe zone.

Five men were rescued from the capsized boat, and one of those men was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear what caused the boat to overturn at this time.
