Congressional intern killed in Northwest DC triple shooting

There's a thread about this shooting in LBN, but the OP has drawn replies from people who already know who's to blame. Pretty darn smart that crowd. They should sign up to be detectives for MPD.

A congressional intern was killed in a triple shooting Monday night on 7th and M Streets Northwest. News4’s Jackie Bensen reports.

A congressional intern was killed in a triple shooting Monday night on 7th and M Streets Northwest. ... Police said 21-year-old Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, who worked for Republican Rep. Ron Estes of Kansas, was one of three people who were struck when a car pulled up and started shooting at people.

“I will remember his kind heart and how we always greeted anyone who entered our office with a cheerful smile,” Estes said in a statement. "We are grateful to Eric for his service to Kansas’ 4th District and the country. Please join Susan and me in praying for his family and respecting their privacy during this heartbreaking time.”

Tarpinian-Jachym an intern in the congressman's office out of a program through the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He was originally from Mississippi.

In the aftermath of the shooting, bullet holes could be seen in a bus kiosk in the area, but it is not clear where Tarpinian-Jachym was standing at the time of the shooting. ... An adult woman turned up at a location three and a half blocks north of where the shooting occurred asking for help and saying that she had been shot.

A 16-year-old was also shot, police said. News4 does not know his condition, but he survived his injury.

getting anyone else who was standing near the intended target. There has been several shootings at that location recently.

One of many reasons why I moved across the river. I used to live 2 blocks from that intersection. I would walk to that Mt Vernon Square metro station most days because it was less crowded than Gallery Place.
