Southwest Nevada One,

American America West Retro,

avianca from Bogota,

and one clean ride from Frankfurt to Ft. Myers diversion to Tampa. interesting rules for diversions told to me by some ground crew, fuel must remain to access two backup airports, at which time the decision has to be to divert(uncorroborated).

I like to track squawks, and there are more diversions than people realize.
Of course, it's important to know that a diverted flight can't just "roll up" to the airport and land, so to speak.
I have watched many flight patterns where diversions are complicated by multiple repeated "circles" aloft after reaching the accepting airfield, waiting for a chance to land.
The extra fuel comes in very handy in those situations. ✈️❤️

I understand they must have a gate available to accept them before the go-ahead, not sure about deplaning or how quick a turnaround, or maybe they don't?. It sounds like a logistical nightmare. Florida in the summer gets a LOT of these as thunderheads pop up and close down airports. I get flightradar24 notices for various situations but mainly just watch adsb out of the corner of my eye for anything out of the ordinary. I'm about 3 miles distance from two main flight paths and watch each dependent on the location of the sun, always have the sun to your back or all you get is a silhouette.

Carol Wick, who owns an international consulting firm, had been traveling with her husband for a two-week vacation in Croatia and was returning home to Orlando on a Virgin Atlantic flight from London Heathrow Airport. After several delays and a canceled flight, Wick said she was ready to get home once she landed in Orlando. After arriving at OIA around 7 p.m., Wick said officials told passengers their bags would be slightly delayed due to weather.
