Saturday's Horses. Today we begin Kate's story. It's a long one, so we'll stay with it for awhile.

Kate was Laurie's competition and trail-riding Paint mare.
She died prematurely from colic at age nineteen. Kate was a special girl.
One day at our old farm my camera caught Kate and Laurie out riding.
They came to and rode up a hill,

then rode the ridgeline.

Laurie liked the previous photo and had it re-made into a coffee cup.

Once they rode an obstacle course, which included this water challenge.

At home Kate was always making new friends.

Or getting groomed by Mommy.

At competitions the two were photographed by professionals.

Kate had a nice way with kids.

Finally, for today, a close friend gave Kate
a "horse-person-alized" noseband with our last name on it.

Kate's story to be continued next Saturday. Thanks for visiting!

She must have been truly special. Some animals take love and give it back in spades, which it appears your special Kate did for everyone she met. What beautiful memories.
