Related: About this forumI have medical news to tell all of you . . .
My oncology doctor wanted me to get an MRI of my brain, to make sure that there are no cancer cells in there.
The MRI happened yesterday and today I got the results.
The report said:
IMPRESSION
No evidence of infarct, hemorrhage, hydrocephalus, mass effect, or abnormal enhancement.
I couldn't figure this out, so I texted one of my doctors and he told me that I'm fine. There is no cancer in my brain.
Big sigh of relief!
PS--I'm going to give each person a rec as soon as I've read what they said. Remember that I value all of you and what you say.

Sometimes it causes needless worry. So glad to hear your news was good!

(1,003 posts)that is spectacular news..............
My wife has been fighting Stage Four, for eight years, and all the tests and scans every 2-3 months show that modern medicine and cancer research is providing some impressive results to patients.
Hang in there, I will be thinking of you!

5) Abnormal accumulation of contrast material in brain tissues, typically
indicating a breakdown of the blood-brain barrier, which can occur due to
various pathological processes.

(7 posts)is surgery. Not great but not as bad as I anticipated. I had the same diagnosis two years ago. Had upper right lobectomy on November 13, 2023. I was 74 at the time. Your attitude is much better than mine; so, you'll do well. In fact, I did well. Use your spirometer as much as you can. It will greatly improve your breathing capacity. The time goes by very quickly, and you'll have the winter to recover. Good luck and god's speed, Peggy!

(387 posts)I have been taking care of my only child (adult) since the beginning of July which is why I haven't been on DU. Two surgeries since then. I know the nightmare of waiting for test results. So far, my child's followup tests and scans and coming back negative since the surgeries. She was fortunate to have access to a type of chemo that is available only in our city. Stay strong, California Peggy! You've got this. I will keep you in my daily prayers and send you good vibes.
