Wild butterfly weed

Yesterday at Muhlenberg Native Plant Meadow, Lancaster, PA.

1. Asclepias tuberosa

A milkweed. Great for butterflies. The monarch butterfly loves it too. I have it all over my back field.

I also get visits from clouds of butterflies in the fall thanks to it.

2. I have a patch of it growing in my garden that I transplanted from the field

Its in full bloom now, and covered with bees, butterflies, and other insects. We also left milkweed growing close by. Still no Monarchs yet though. We only get a few now days.
